It's been a long week. A really long one. But I am off work today and Scotland, in one of those incredibly rare moments of joy, has provided a couple of days of magical weather, fluffy blue skies, gentle breeze. It feels like a dream, so long we go without it here.

I'm going to drive north, to run to the hills, to camp, to seize the day and all that jazz. Packing up this morning I was trying to find the perfect voice, album, to stir that little cog of adventure, of wide-eyed exploring, driving north, driving the north, the sun warm and bright and alive.

And the answer was Florist. It's always Florist.

And then I remembered there was a new Florist song from a couple of weeks I hadn't made space for - and so I did. And while Emily Sprague sings of driving around after dark, it still works in the bright heat of a summer morning, such is the grace with which it's delivered, the kindness of the offer.

I don't have much more to say about it right now. The song, Riding Around In The Dark, is lifted from the soundtrack to, I Saw The I Saw the TV Glow, a new A24 film, which is getting lots of simmering hype, and also features the likes of Hop Along's France Quinlan, Caroline Polachek, Bartees Strange, Jay Som, L'Rain, Sadurn and so many more.

The soundtrack is released today, and as for Florist's new song, well, it's magical. Florist is magical. The answer is always Florist.
