Songs of Hope for Gaza

Songs of Hope for Gaza

Released at the end of October, Songs of Hope for Gaza is a new and sprawling collection of songs being co-released by Dear Life Records and Pretty Purgatory to raise money for ANERA, who are supporting humanitarian aid and emergency relief in Gaza and beyond.

The compilation has been curated by Liza Victoria, whose own music as Lisa/Liza we've loved and shared over the years and appears here, as one of the compilation's 33 new songs.

The collection also features new work from the likes of Thanya Iyer, Adeline Hotel, Ther, Matt Bachman, Little Mazarn, Good Good Blood and many, many more. Three of the songs are available to stream now ahead of the October 28th release, and the whole thing can be pre-ordered on a pay-what-you-can basis, with with 100% of the proceeds being passed on to ANERA.

Songs of Hope For Gaza is a compilation organized as an effort to join together as a music community to write music in solidarity for Palestine. The cover painting and title, is a nod to Bottles of Hope For Gaza, where in Egypt, bottles containing rice, flour, and beans were thrown into sea in hopes that they would reach the shores of Gaza. In organizing this project, I hope to offer encouragement to anyone in the music community, to speak up in song and to utilize our collective power. I believe it is vital to our own hearts, and our lives as artists, to empathize and show empathy to this cause.
