GFP's favourite albums of 2025

Hello!

Somehow we're in the final embers of 2025. I'm really sure how that happened but here we are. I hope this time of year is finding you however you need it to.

Thank you for your support across the past twelve months. GFP has felt like a strange and knotty thing recently. I'm not sure what it means to be a music blog in 2025, when so many of the communal spaces and paths have been dismantled. More than ever it feels like whispering into a great big digital void, unsure if anyone is there to absorb / read / listen to the things shared here.

I'm unsure of what 2026 holds for us here. I was working on a big GFP project but that slipped out my grasp amid some personal goings-on. I plan to spend some of the new year period reflecting on that and whether to move forward with it again, or whether there is a different path to take. We will see.

And sincerely, thank you for being here. I've never taken our readership for granted and I hope that comes across too, in spite of all the strangeness and difficulties in trying to harness some kind of creative spirit and freedom in 2025.

That being said. I still lovely seeking out new music, writing about it new music, and sharing that with you here.

And with that in mind I'm very pleased to share Curious Listening 2025, a 54-page digital zine featuring 8,000-ish words on some of my favourite music of the year. Carefully curated, lovingly designed, overflowing with recommendations that I sincerely hope reach out of this wide open space and change the shape of your day somehow.

It's for sale now via our ko-fi site, for a small donation in exchange. This fee is to support myself and the site as we move forward, and I appreciate that support so very much. Scroll down for a few snapshots of what you can expect.

I hope you enjoy reading and listening. That always has been, and continues to be, the most important thing.
