041: Eric Chenaux Trio - Hello Eyes

Officially introducing the Eric Chenaux Trio, Delights Of My Life will make sense to anyone who's followed Chenaux's career over the past couple of decades, while also introducing an intriguing new chapter to the Canadian artist's ongoing and immeasurably impressive story.

Now an official three-piece, Chenaux is joined by Ryan Driver on Wurlitzer and
Philippe Melanson on electronic percussion across the album's seven new songs and while they certainly add beautiful new textures to the recordings, thankfully Chenaux's jazzy/folky/extraordinary voice still sits front and centre through it all.

Playful, adventurous, and packed full of gloriously honeyed groove, Delights Of My Life makes for a perfect weekend listen, so while 'Hello Eyes' offers an indicative glimpse of its magic - a rich and decadent six-and-a-half minutes, all magically pretty rhythms - I'd highly recommend digging into the whole thing right now and letting the colours reach every corner of your day.
