153: caroline & Caroline Polachek - Tell me I never knew that

Ah, beautiful restraint. Perhaps the most powerful thing of all. Take an eight-piece, able to burst in full sound and colour, add a collaborator who can do the same so wildly and so often – and then hold it all back. Keep it simmering under cloud, behind peeling layers, sharing just enough to create something oddly moving, gently skewed, truly unique.

I'm not even sure what else to say about it because it speaks its own language so brilliantly, with so much wonder. They're so special. This record could go to so many different, distinctive places and the wait to find out where already feels dizzying. But it'll be worth every second of patience.
