064: Pale Spring - epilogue (ft. claire rousay)
'epilogue' is, suitably, the closing track on Pale Spring's most recent EP, murmuration. the lower-case letters are deliberate, the titles are deliberate, the whole thing quietly leaking out into the world like the palest of murmurations, just enough to volume to catch your ear, just enough heart to pull you deep into its world, wrap you up in its skewed sounds.
the six-song release is a mesmerising thing, a dark-pop slow-crawl through manipulated vocals, shallow beats, conjuring the kind of atmosphere that feels so close you can feel the prickle of it on your skin, see the shadow as it swallows the room around you.
it's inky-black and low on light and it's all the more beautiful for it. 'epilogue' is a collaboration with the equally-compelling claire rousay, who brings a swirling sense of melodrama, half burying the track under even more fogginess.
